Yet another cheap eats gem in Borough Market, La Tua Pasta have been making their 40 different types of pasta each evening, to sell in packs the following day, since 2006.

Then you pick a sauce; the most fitting option to compliment my meaty pasta?

More meat in the form of a bolognese.

But the pasta pockets themselves - the stars of the show - were soft and crammed with filling.

I'm eyeing up a meaty mushroom fix for next time.

The Great Taste Producer of the Year Award was presented to La Tua Pasta of London on Monday 5 September at the Great Taste Golden Forks Dinner, held at The Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, as over 300 guests from the world of fine food gathered to hear the results of many months of rigorous judging.

Scooping Great Taste accolades for a remarkable 31 products since 2013, La Tua Pasta, which makes fresh tagliatelle, tortellini and ravioli pasta for some of the most prestigious hotels, restaurants and wholesalers around the world, has consistently achieved exceptional standards over the past four years.

John Farrand, Managing Director of the Guild of Fine Food, explains; “Demonstrating fabulous consistency year on year, it was about time La Tua Pasta was recognised for its outstanding range of fresh pasta, which even top chefs are very proud to serve in their restaurants.

This year many products from London were judged on home soil, and our experts were seriously impressed with the freshness, flavour and texture of this range of pasta, which led to 12 of the 16 products entered receiving Great Taste awards in 2016.”

The Italian cuisine is nice at La tua Pasta.

Most guests of this place state that perfectly cooked ravioli, tortellini and terrific truffle pasta are served here.

The fifty-­strong crew at La Tua Pasta cook everything from scratch in a North London kitchen, where a combination of local and Italian ingredients are used to make over 200 varieties of pasta.

In the years since, they have succeeded – supplying pasta to gourmet delicatessens and restaurants throughout London.

Their favourite meal is Crab Tortellini served with extra virgin olive oil and cherry tomatoes, and a glass of white Italian wine: heavenly for a summer night, whether in Italy or England.

In the cold winter they like Wild Boar Tortellini served with a simple tomato sauce, a warming rustic earthy meal in which you can taste the Italian countryside.
